What is here, and what is not

This site is in the middle of an agonizing reappraisal of its future. The older, larger version of mrdbid.com has been taken down, and what stands here is a smaller thing being rebuilt deliberately rather than restored wholesale.

Rather than hide the gaps behind a page that says nothing, the whole shape is listed below — including the parts that are blank. Of 10 sections the old site had, 1 has been rebuilt, 1 exists but is not currently reachable, and 8 are not built.

Some of these may never come back. That is a real possibility and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise by hanging a hopeful note on everything.

If you were looking for something specific

The specimen photographs are on iNaturalist and always were — this site has never stored an image. Sequences are on GenBank and sequence validation on MycoMap. Those are not affected by any of this, and are better places for that material than a personal site would be.

Old links into the previous site will not resolve. They were not redirected, because guessing which new page an old address corresponds to produces confident wrong answers, and a plain "not here" is better than that.
